Blue Iris Replacement
I see lots of recommendations for Blue Iris, which seems great, but we are all macs and I'm not interested in running windows on a mac. We only need 4 cameras, mounted outdoors. In reading here, it seems that HD POE is the way to go, but I'm getting bogged down in the reviews and details of the various stand alone systems.
Modflow download. Is there a Blue Iris equivalent recommended for a Mac? I would say the budget is $500 max, would really like to keep it at $300. If there's a Blue Iris alt that we could install 2 cameras now, and 2 later, or whatever, that would work, too. Also, we live in Maine, so it seems the nifty wireless systems might be done in by our winter temps and their impact on battery life.
Current situation is that our neighborhood is having a rash of night time break ins, one attempted at our house but our windows were locked and my husband heard him at the garage door and scared the bejeezus out of the prowler, but, still not enough to make an arrest. Windows all in one download. After talking to PD, cameras would have been great for IDing who they suspect.
I know that there are lots of posts about this stuff, but couldn't find a good answer to my Mac question, so thanks!
